- Chilean Route starting in Argentina
Day 1 – Meeting in Fiambalá, meeting with the guides, review of the personal equipment and guidelines for the expedition. Transfer to Refugio Chaschuil 3000, or Refugio Pescadores 3300 masl. Pescadores 3300 masl or another in the area at similar altitude.
Day 2 – Transfer to the Refugio de Vialidad Pcial. “La Gruta 4100 masl” Transfer of approximately 100 km. to La Gruta 4.100 masl,: soft trekking by the San Francisco lagoon.
Day 3 – Ascent to Cerro Falso Morocho 4500 masl. Day of about 3 hours of ascent to the and 1:30 hours of descent.
Day 4 – La Gruta 4100 masl. Ascent to Bertrand Volcano 5300 masl.
We ascend to the summit of this beautiful volcano, with a beautiful view to the great 6000 and its enormous crater of more than 4 km of circumference. A day of 6 to 7 hours of ascent, and 3 hours of descent.
Day 5 – La Gruta 4100 masl – Rest, rest and acclimatization day while we prepare for the ascent to San Francisco Volcano. We prepare for the ascent to San Francisco Volcano.
Day 6 – Ascent to the summit of San Francisco Volcano, descent to La Gruta. At 4 am, we move to the base of San Francisco at 4800 m.a.s.l., from there we start our attack to the summit. Our attack to the summit. Descent.
Day 7 – Transfer to Chile -Customs (Maricunga) formalities – Transfer by vehicle to Laguna Verde 4400 masl.
Day 8 – Transfer by vehicle to Refugio Atacama 5200 masl Chile. Rest and acclimatization.
Day 9 – Portage to Camp. Tejos 5820 masl, overnight at Camp. Atacama 5200 masl. Day of Portage
Day 10 – Ascent to Camp 2 Tejos. Ascent, set up camp, rest, acclimatization and preparation for summit day, acclimatization and preparation for summit day.
Day 11 – Refugio Tejos 5820 masl, to Cumbre 6892 masl, to Refugio Tejos (to be decided by the guide, go down to the guide, descend to Refugio Atacama). A day of about 12 to 14 hours of activity.
Day 12 – Return to Fiambalá, Lodging, end of services. Descent from Refugio Atacama and transfer to Fiambalá. Atacama and transfer to Fiambalá, we will leave you at your lodging for the night, and with this and with this we end our services.
